The Black Forest is a paradise for bikers - as the hilly landscape always goes uphill, it always goes downhill again! On challenging routes requiring a good physical condition or on trails which are easily manageable by families with children, you can "experience" the charm of dark forests and meadows covered with flowers. Naturally we will arrange a suitable bike for you.
Excellently signed and well-tended trails cross the most beautiful areas of our landscape and invite you to long hikes. Hiking guides of the "Schwarzwaldverein" (Black Forest Association) will accompany you to the most worthwhile places. We will be glad to give you information about the hiking programme.
As the adage says, the greatest happiness on earth is sitting in the saddle of a horse. Around Schwaningen, you and particularly your children can find many opportunities to ride. At the "Little Rose Range" in Bonndorf you will feel like a cowboy riding authentic Western horses.
Situated in a beautiful hilly area and not far from Schwaningen, the golf course "Obere Alp" awaits you. Playing on the 18-hole championship course, you can improve your handicap; a 9-hole training course is open to anyone who has always wanted to try handling a golf club and ball. Whether you have a strong forehand and backhand or you simply enjoy a match with racket and ball - you are welcome on the tennis courts in Bonndorf and Stühlingen.
Is water your element? Then refresh yourself in the outdoor pools of Stühlingen, Schleitheim or Bonndorf, spread out your bath towel on the banks of the idyllically situated and unspoiled lake Schlüchtsee; wind and spray can you feel sailing or surfing on the lake Schluchsee.
During the winter months, the Mount Feldberg is ideal for skiing and tobogganing. On the highest peak of the Black Forest, very modern ski-lifts and well-tended slopes with all levels of difficulty attract the visitors. Cross-country skiers can find very well-groomed and sporting cross-country ski trails on the near heights of the Black Forest; after a short drive, you can reach the very famous ski areas of the Swiss Alps or, more easily, you can travel by bus to reach the destination of your ski trip.
Have a good time and enjoy the fresh air!
